KieVonne King, LCSW, TCYM

Hello, friend! I am KieVonne and I have been a practicing mental health therapist for over a decade. I earned my BSW from Bennett College for Women in Greensboro, NC. HBCU Pride!  I completed my MSW at Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL.  I am licensed to practice social work in Florida and North Carolina.  I have a focused passion on serving others with a special interest in mental health.  As such, after completing graduate school I worked as a therapist at an inpatient psychiatric facility in Florida. While working in this capacity, I recalled a passion that was instilled in me as a young military brat (child of a service member), which was to serve those that serve us.  As such, I started the process of joining the United States Air Force to serve as a clinical social worker.

After completing my contract with the Air Force, I accepted a job as the senior social worker for the Women's Stress Disorder team at a Veterans Hospital – which eventually led to me becoming the Program Coordinator for the Military Sexual Trauma program at the same VA.

As a clinician, I am fiercely committed to assisting YOU overcome life's challenges through process, empowerment, perseverance, and self-love.  I specialize in helping clients move beyond distress related to anxiety and depression, trauma related concerns, grief and loss, chronic pain, insomnia, diminished self esteem, women’s issues, LGBTQ+ unique challenges, as well as other phase of life concerns.

Although I am trained in several research backed therapy tools, to include, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression, Insomnia, and Chronic Pain, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing Therapy, I whole heartedly believe in providing clients with therapy options that are tailored to meet their unique needs. I fully believe in the transformative power of incorporating a mind-body approach into treatment. Meaning, I infuse movement, meditation, and breath work into the talk therapy healing process.

I recognize the many challenges that we are met with throughout different stages of life especially after experiencing a traumatic event.  My commitment as your clinician, is to guide you along your journey to self-restoration utilizing a holistic, empathetic, and individualized approach. My goal is to assist you in becoming the best version of yourself by turning life’s challenges into victories.  Together we will work to take whatever is weighing you down and turn it into the passion that elevates you. It’s time to invest in the most important piece of your life – yourself!

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  I enjoy cooking hearty vegan meals, volunteering, doing yoga, and engaging in interior design and home organization projects.
