KieVonne King, LCSW is the founder of Refreshing Lives Therapy and Consultation Services, PLLC. KieVonne earned her BSW from Bennett College for Women in Greensboro, NC. She completed her MSW at Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. She is licensed to practice social work in Florida and North Carolina. KieVonne has a focused passion on serving others with a special interest in mental health. As such, after completing graduate school KieVonne worked as a therapist at an inpatient psychiatric facility in Florida. While working in this capacity, KieVonne recalled a passion that was instilled in her as a young military brat (child of a service member), which was to serve those that serve us. As such, KieVonne started the process of joining the United States Air Force to serve her country as a clinical social worker.
After completing her contract with the Air Force, KieVonne accepted a job as the senior social worker for the Women's Stress Disorder team at a Veterans Hospital – which eventually led to KieVonne becoming the Program Coordinator for the Military Sexual Trauma program at the same VA. It was there that KieVonne realized that women's mental health is an area of care that is so frequently overlooked in the medical field.
In an effort to close the gap, KieVonne is fiercely committed to assisting teen girls (13 and older) and adult women overcome life's challenges through process, empowerment, perseverance, and self-love. KieVonne specializes in helping clients move beyond distress related to anxiety and depression, trauma related concerns, grief and loss, chronic pain, insomnia, diminished self esteem, women’s issues, as well as other phase of life concerns.
Although KieVonne is trained in several research backed therapy tools, to include, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression, Insomnia, and Chronic Pain and Cognitive Processing Therapy, she whole heartedly believes in providing clients with therapy options that are tailored to meet their unique needs.
In her free time KieVonne enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 kiddos. She enjoys cooking hearty vegan meals, volunteering, doing yoga, and is newly intrigued by interior design and home organization.
